How accurate is the Kbytes count?
To measure how many times a file has been downloaded I divide the Kbytes count with the size of the file i want to measure. Is this the right method?I need to know hoe many times a certain mp3 has been grabbed and the hits number seems exaggerated.
I suppose it depends a bit on the size of the file in question. The kbytes count reflects the actual amount of bandwidth that Amazon sent out over the wire. I suspect that if you divide by the file size you won't get an integer, since for bigger files it is possible for a user to cancel the download partway. That's also why the hit count probably seems inflated. Somewhere between those two numbers will lie the true number of total completed downloads.
