Private web stats

Hi,

Is it possible that the stats are private??

Absolutely. There is no requirement that your /stats/ "directory" on S3 be publicly readable. You can set permissions on those files to whatever you'd like.

Note, however, that doing so will leave you unable to see your stats in a web browser. S3 doesn't have any provision for password secured files, which I gather is what you're looking for. You'd need to copy the html files out to another location if you wanted to view them.

Ok,

but s3stat would continue working if we set private permissions on "/stats/" directory?

Yes. Since S3stat uses your own credentials to place files in that folder, it would still work if you set it to read-only for the public.

Hi,

As far as I understand it, S3 is not organized in folders, thus setting ACL on existing keys do not provision for future keys.

Which means to me that if I set the ACLs on the /stats/ folder now, next month files will be publicly accessible.
